My studies focus on desert agriculture and desert greening and the synergies with novel soil amendments like engineered biochar and superhydrophobic sand mulches. I am assisting in the deployment and field trials of Sununu, a smart irrigation system developed by my colleague, Jiaqi Zheng. Together, we are striving to overcome the environmental challenges of the Middle East, while improving sustainability and self-sufficiency in the region.
