In December, leading world entities will come together at COP28 to address the most pressing challenges of our time. Prototypes for Humanity will feature 100 projects offering practical solutions to the related environmental and social issues.

Who takes part

Participation is free and open to students and recent graduates from all disciplines and universities around the world. For this year’s edition, we have received applications from students in leading universities in over 100 countries, across all disciplines of natural sciences, humanities, technology and creative studies.

Selection Criteria

Projects are chosen based on:

  • Originality in problem solving

  • Positive impact on people, communities, or the planet

  • Application of (high or low) tech or innovative methods

  • Showcase

    100 top global innovators are invited and subsidized to take part in our international exhibition taking place in Dubai during COP28, the conference uniting the world’s leading entities and people across government, private sector and civil society working towards a better future and planet for everyone.

  • Awards

    $100,000 in prizes are awarded to students and professors across different categories, to celebrate academic excellence. Learn more.

  • Entrepreneurship Training

    All applicants are invited to take part in the multi-phased entrepreneurship training, dedicated to graduates who want to take their projects to market. Selected participants will have the opportunity to work with industry-specific startup experts, and pitch for investors and partners. Learn more.
