About

Compass is an open sourced navigation system for the visually impaired to move around independently.

It comprises of a mobile application used to set the destinations and help users navigate (through Bluetooth based beacons built in the infrastructure). A smart bracelet serves as a verification tool to detect the users location and a pair of smart shoes use ultrasonic sensors to detect obstacles and ensure the users' safety while moving around in pubic spaces.
