Golden Capsule

About

Medicine-injection device optimised for emergency disaster scenarios

Golden Capsule is a non-powered medicine-injection device optimised for emergency rescuers in disaster scenarios. Replacing gravity-driven systems, it employs elastic force and air pressure to consistently administer medicine for over 30 minutes to an hour, without relying on electricity or manual effort. Its transparent shell encases a medicine-filled balloon, and the device can be easily adjusted for injection speed, even achieving full-drip rates required in emergencies. Easily attachable to stretchers, it enhances rescuer efficiency, eliminating the need to manually hold intravenous packs.

I’m Yujin Chae and my designer name is Cheddie. I’m double majoring in industrial design and design engineering at Hongik university in Korea. I would like to introduce myself as a designer, engineer, and pioneer. I'm interested in creating innovative inventions by combining design and engineering. So I'm not just a designer, I'm not an engineer. As a team leader, I played the roles of main designer and main engineer as well, adjusting team project and helping communication between our designers and engineers.more

I'm Yeonghwan Shin. I am studying Mechanical and System design engineering and design engineering in hongik university, south korea. I would define myself as different and experimental person, since I was a kid, I liked to make experimental musics and I always liked to imagine things on my own. Now I'm a student of mechanical engineering, also interested in ergonomics, robot engineering, and kinematics. I'm studying to make experimental robots and automatas that can interact with people. As a team member, I did many experiments to prove the feasibility of Golden Capsule and made this prototyping.more

    Hongik University

Bai Yuan majored in industrial design and design engineer at Hongik University. Of these two majors, one focuses on user-centered design and expression, and the other focuses on solving and exploring practical problems.Their collision allowed them to develop conceptual designs into products that truly benefit society. This makes her design process pay more attention to user experience and humanistic care. For example, the original intention of this medical device design also comes from concern for medical staff and disaster-stricken people in today's society. In the future, she hopes to become a small force in promoting social development through design. more

I'm majoring in mechanical & system design engineering and design engineering at Hongik University. I have done multi-disciplinary tasks with design students many times so far. In particular, I've done a few future mobility projects, and I'm very interested in making products that combine design and technology. In this project, I planned experiments on product principles and communicated with design students based on engineering grounds. Of course, I also joined in the prototype production. It's very satisfied with challenging a new field of medical devices. The future goal is to work as a design engineer through experience in various fields.more
