Iron Lights Lives

About

Iron–Air Storage for Renewable Energy

A low-cost Iron-Air battery system that stores electricity for up to 100 hours, offering a safe, long-duration alternative to lithium-ion storage. Using direct reduced iron, an abundant, low-purity material refined without melting, this system delivers high energy density, excellent rechargeability, and zero toxic emissions. Designed for modular use from rural microgrids to city rooftops, it reduces dependence on fossil fuels. By supporting equitable energy access and climate resilience in underserved regions, it enables a just transition to clean power
