Pause Pillow

About

A smart pillow that jams wifi signals when in use, to help reduce dependency from social media

Pause Pillow focused on people experiencing Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) syndrome and their habit of not letting go of mobile devices even whilst in bed before sleeping. Constantly checking social media feeds causes disturbance to sleep, which is essential for people to recharge their daily lives and maintain a clear mind. The project transforms the pillow into a smart device to tackle this issue. When the user lies on the pillow, the pressure sensor inside the pillow causes the Wi-Fi module embedded in Pause Pillow to send a jamming signal. The signal disrupts the Wi-Fi network, blocking smartphones from accessing the Internet.
