Ana Margarida Sousa

About

Ana has a strong background in Engineering, encompassing several aspects of Energy production and spanning three master’s degrees in civil, petroleum, and mechanical engineering. She has also specialized in specific topics in the energy field, including two post-graduation courses in hydrogen and fuel cell technology, and a Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering, at the IST. Her professional career is multifaceted, complemented by research and practice. The first includes studies in hydraulics and several emerging problems in hydrocarbon production. From the second, one can highlight the design and project management of water use for energy generation and several technical-economic studies in Energy Policies and strategies. She is a member of the Future Energy Leaders programme from the World Energy Council and also the Secretary-general of the Portuguese Future Energy Leaders programme, promoted by the Portuguese Energy Association. She is a member of the Portuguese Engineers Institution, where she was awarded the title of expert in Hydraulics & Water Resources, and Energy. Currently, she is an adviser of the Cabinet of the Secretary of State of Energy and Climate.
