Dr Julie Dao recently completed her PhD in the Cardiovascular Disease Program at Monash University (Monash Health). Her research was focused on uncovering novel mechanisms to target when preventing cardiovascular disease. Julie worked alongside supervisors Professor Stephen Nicholls and Dr Kristen Bubb of the Vascular Pathophysiology and Therapeutics Group. Julie is passionate about positive impact through medical technology which led her to co-found Sonorus. Sonorus is a medical device and AI company aimed at democratizing cardiovascular specialty expertise through the use of bioacoustic signatures. Her work has gained her a Forbes-30-Under-30 Nomination for Healthcare and Science in Australia and Asia.
