Light-Op

Light-Op

Project Overview

About

Light-Op is a surgical overhead light designed to bridge the current surgical and emergency lighting gap in limited resource hospitals. It includes a flashlight add-on to enable essential medical care outside the operating room. The main light is a high-quality, shadow-eliminating surgical light that uses high efficiency, low power LEDs. It is powered by a car battery that can be connected to solar power or mains, providing up to 35 hours of light independent of the electrical grid. The flashlight is powered for up to 9 hours by rechargeable batteries.
