About

MimoSense is a patented piezoelectric film enabling high-resolution, contact-free sensing of foetal and maternal vital signs. Integrated into a soft pregnancy belt, the ultra-thin sensor detects static pressure and micro-vibrations without ultrasound or electrical stimulation. Developed from award-winning materials research, it combines flexible sensing with embedded AI to track heart rates, uterine activity, and foetal movements in real time. Scalable through printed electronics, MimoSense offers a passive, comfortable solution for home monitoring and early detection in maternal healthcare

Omar Ben Dali

Omar Ben Dali studied Electrical Engineering at TU Darmstadt and earned his PhD with summa cum laude. He holds two patents in sensor technology for an ultrasonic transducer and multimodal mechanical sensors, and has co-authored over 30 peer-reviewed papers. In 2024, he received the Special Prize for Scientific Contribution from the Thomas Weiland Foundation. His invention, a flexible sensor capable of detecting both maternal and fetal heart rates, forms the foundation of MimoSense GmbH, the healthcare startup he co-founded. His vision is seamless sensing in healthcare, invisible when all is well, invaluable when it matters most, and accessible to everyone.
