Authenticating human voices to counter AI cloning

OriginStory addresses the growing challenge of distinguishing human-generated voices from AI-cloned ones. The system authenticates the human origin of voice recordings at the moment of creation, using sensors that capture unique biosignals from the throat and mouth. These signals, impossible for AI to replicate, are embedded as a watermark or signature in the audio. This proactive approach ensures that the voice remains verified as authentically human from creation to distribution, protecting against the misuse of AI in voice cloning

    Isabella Lenz

    Arizona State University

    Isabella Lenz received her BSE degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin- Madison in 2021. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at Arizona State University (ASU), with an intended graduation date of May 2025. Her research experience spans Radar, digital signal processing, acoustics, and biosignals. She currently researches sensors that capture the physiological motions of speech. Post graduation she intends to further pursue academic research. more
