About
30-50% of food is wasted due to lack of adequate storage causing economic instability for farmers in developing countries and damage to the environment. A solution to extend the shelf life of perishable crops from 5 to 21 days, by lessening water loss and slowing the ripening process while maintaining texture, flavour, and nutrients. The technology consisting of solar panels, a compressor, a condensing unit, and an evaporator, gives growers time to sell their produce at a fair rate while preventing greenhouse gas emissions.
