BlinkAid

BlinkAid

About

When the natural blinking mechanism fails, eyes become painful and vulnerable to infection BlinkAid is a non-invasive medical device that induces artificial blinking and tear secretion, vital mechanisms that protect the cornea from dust and dirt. This enhanced pair of glasses can manage the user's blinking cycle via Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation. This is achieved by placing electrodes over the nerve’s “motor points” and conducting a modulated pulse, which activates the muscle artificially where normal functionality is impaired.
