FlyVision

FlyVision

Project Overview

About

FlyVision uses heads-up visualisation to allow drone operators to better plan and monitor the drone flight in a single-operator inspection mission for building façades and industrial assets. The system enables inspection of all points of interest and sides of a building/asset while maintaining distance and controlling camera and drone movement simultaneously. It is designed to also monitor the status of the drone to ensure continuous operability. FlyVision can help with augmented reality applications and improve safety in a variety of scenarios for urban development and mobility.

Xu Peisen

National University of Singapore

Peisen is a human-computer interaction researcher, currently pursuing the PhD study in National University of Singapore. His research focuses on 3D mixed-reality visualization to facilitate human and aerial robots collaboration. While robotics has played an increasingly significant role in the urban industry, Peisen’s research aims to consider the human factors of the operators to improve the decision-making process. Prior to this, Peisen studied at Nanyang Technological University on interactive media design. He had several experiences working on projects about VR simulation, VR gaming and interactive stylised animation.
