Mamay

About

Mamay is a remote control which takes into consideration the specific needs of elderly people who suffer from motor disability or impairment. The design incorporates a control cross inspired by gaming joysticks and a voice-activated button, to perform more complex tasks such as adjust luminosity or change channels. The same remote could also be adapted to be used in other daily routines, such as controlling air conditioning units.

A designer with a bachelor's degree in Industrial Design from the Bucharest National University of Arts. Currently, I’m studying for a master's degree in Product Design at the same university. I believe in honest design, which solves problems and adds value to an object. I also want to make a major impact on the problems of people with special needs and on the environment.
