Fruit Vendors Street Cart is a pair of prototypes for a folding, portable cart for street fruit vendors. In Havana, street vendors reuse and re-purpose various carts for their trade – from hospital stretchers to supermarket shopping carts to old baby strollers. Students from the Pratt Institute in New York and Higher Institute of Industrial Design in Havana collaborated to design a simple, economical fold-up cart that could be fabricated in the city’s garages or mechanical shops.
