TrashBoom

TrashBoom

About

8 – 10m tons of plastic waste are entering the oceans from rivers every year causing catastrophic damage to the marine environment Made from locally sourced materials, this award-winning barrier has already led to over 800 tones of river plastic being collected and processed in India and Indonesia, creating many full-time jobs for locals, and raising awareness in the community. The construction is low-tech and supported by an open-source user manual, it is a modular system adaptable for rivers of multiple sizes.
