Aux Synesthesia

About

A world with less noise, created by sound

Aux Synesthesia is an interface between physical and Virtual Reality (VR) that encourages new uses of the senses. The project uses a combination of VR technologies to simulate an experience that pairs sound with Augmented Reality. This Augmented Reality is an abstracted reflection of the true world, reduced to the most necessary details we need for orienting ourselves in our environment. Those details appear as digital sound waves that react differently to certain materials, movement or change. To achieve this, the designers created a physical and a virtual prototype that can map space and translate it into audio signals. By reimagining vision through sound, Aux Synesthesia reduces visual noise and provides a new way of experiencing the world.
