# 2019 Ignis |
Ignis is a portable light that converts heat into electricity that is then stored in integrated batteries. While access to electricity is a crucial prerequisite to economic development, there are currently two billion people worldwide with no access to modern energy services. Ignis addresses this issue by using a readily available resource – heat from a fire or stove – and converting it into electricity that can be used as a light or to charge a small device such as a phone.
